I completely agree! This dating site is horrible. I only read a review from dating scout dot com and I am guessing they were paid because they gave this trash a good review. What a waste of time and of money! Trying to figure out how to cancel Do not use this!
‘Be picky and have high standards’: new dating apps cater to the elite and the rich
Last year at a conference I was talking to one of my mentors about how it felt to be in the final year of a PhD. Her reply summed it up:. Relationships are incompatible with PhDs, seems to be the conclusion.

Tinder, Match, Grindr – all dating or hook-up apps and names which have passed into common parlance for a generation of and somethings. Of course, such apps are simply one example of the way internet and smartphones are being used to connect strangers to meet a market need. Taxi drivers, dogwalkers, cleaners and babysitters are all providers whose ability to connect with customers has been transformed in a similar way.
The generation for whom such tools are part of everyday life includes a large number of recent Ph. D students and professional academics now wanting and being expected to connect with others beyond their libraries and laboratories. For some companies, innovation will mean the search for radical new departures, groundbreaking science converted into products or services that disrupt markets and create and capture new value.
For other firms, the challenge will be to iterate and refine, eeking out the small percentages that make the difference between profit and loss. Yet, in the business sector, we tap only a small percentage. Theses have been written on the challenges to cross-sectoral partnering of this sort. Recurring themes in the literature include the linguistic differences between what can feel like different tribes and the hard commercial bargains driven by universities over what their academics can do with inventions and insights derived with university funds.
The United States, for example, has traditionally allowed its academics to earn greater personal rewards from business tie-ups.
Dating apps have seen a surge since lockdown came into force, with more people than ever swiping right on dating apps like Tinder and Bumble. The inspiration behind the idea was quite simple. When memes were created and spread about how upset many college students were about no longer being able to find love on campus, Valdez and Gorska sought to bring that love to their homes — virtually. Seeing the potential of Zoom, they launched OKZoomer with the aim of dissipating some of that disappointment.
Shortly after they set up and shared the Google Form, it went viral.

I t used to be that if you wanted to meet someone of a certain caliber, you would venture to a particular bar. Forget Tinder. Forget OkCupid. Who has time for all that swiping? The men know that women they meet in The League are career oriented, intelligent, ambitious and are working just as hard.
‘Tinder for Academics’…?
Academic singles can be hard to find. But, how do you find a partner who will understand that? Dating can be a challenge for academic and professional high-flyers. Many dating sites mix everyone together and make it almost impossible to pair up with people who share the same intellectual abilities and passions. But EliteSingles is different.
My graduate degree was completed at a large university in a college town, and I made occasional use of dating apps during my time there. They were only mildly useful at best, but they facilitated interaction with people outside my normal social circle, which I enjoyed. My instinct tells me that I should avoid such apps in my new position, but I’d like to seek outside opinions. I already have some of my own ideas, but what are some potential pitfalls of maintaining dating app profiles? Should I simply refrain from using them?
Would anyone in my department or administration have a problem with me using them if they knew? Note: I am well-aware that dating students at my university is a bad idea. For what it’s worth, I am not interested in meeting people more than three or four years younger than me anyway. I’m looking for advice that goes beyond some of the more obvious points.
Professors both young and old are known to use dating apps.

Do people fear the menace of ‘transient academics’, or is it just more scholarly infighting? Gerard Kelly writes. It is probably fair to say that academics as a tribe do not impinge on the public consciousness in the way, say, doctors, judges or estate agents do. As a group they do not generate headlines of purposeful humanity, establishment eccentricity or parasitic ubiquity.
Ordinary punters, if pushed to sum up their views on academics, would most likely locate them in the battered middle classes — respectable, tatty but essentially harmless.

Two main reasons come to mind which EliteSingles treat their sophisticated, educated target audience to all of the best features a dating site could offer.
